White Water Rafting, Saturday, September 4: Meet at the church at 4 p.m. on Friday, arriving at Raft One around 10 p.m. Our trip down the river begins at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday and will return to town later that night. Ten people are attending and there is room for two more. If you are interested in going, please contact Teresa Burns at the church, 363-2554.
Next Sunday (September 5) we will celebrate the sacrament of communion together. Jesus himself invites us and calls us to invite everyone to the banquet feast of the Kingdom of God.
Presbyterian Women will meet on September 13 at 10 am in the Margaret Butler Library and will be studying "Journeys Through Revelation: Apocalyptic Hope for Today." Plans are underway to resume the evening Women's Bible Study on Tuesday, September 14 with a 6 pm meal at the home of Janice Newton. Bible study at 7 pm. This study is "Living Above Worry and Stress" from the Women of Faith Series.
Fall Clean Up: Plans are underway for a fall clean up day or two. Mark your calendars for Saturday, 9/18 and 9//25, to come and participate in a church-wide clean up. Work to be done includes painting the craft room, cleaning doors, trim, the large youth room and outside yard maintenance.
The Peacemaking Offering will be received on Sunday, October 3. This offering helps to fund the work of the Presbyterian Peacemaking Program with the receipts being divided among every level of the church. Congregations keep 25%, synods and presbyteries receive 25% and 50% goes to the national church's program.

Inspiration Days, October 2010: On Sunday, October 3, through Wednesday, October 6, FPC will have a special gathering time. "Feed My Sheep" is the theme of the event and it promises to be a time of renewal, reconnection and even revival. Mark your calendars now and plan to join us for this time together. Contact Edna Harwell or Milton Nesbitt if you are willing to help plan, coordinate or spread the word about the event. Dr. John Todd will be the keynote speaker for the event on October 3, Rev. Jennifer Fouse on Oct. 4, Oct. 5 (to be announced) and a Covered Dish Dinner on Oct. 6.
