Meeting Time:  Wednesday evenings from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. for the Senior High PYF;  6:30 pm in the large youth room for the Junior High PYF.

Youth Room Revamp:  The Junior High PYF group meets in the big room downstairs.  The lighting is very poor; floor lamps are needed.  Storage is an issue; a storage cabinet or bookshelf for the youth room is needed.  An indoor/outdoor area rug would be a welcome addition for the Bible study area.  A couple of DVD players would also be useful.

The annual Spaghetti Supper will be September 15, 2010.  This is our opportunity to serve our church family a nice meal and share stories and adventures of our trips.  Invite folks and sell tickets.  The money raised will go towards next year's mission trip and camp activities.  Be at the church by 5:00 pm on September 15 to begin setting up for the meal.

On Wednesday, September 22, at 7 am, students across the country will gather around the flagpole at their schools to pray.  They pray for their schools, their friends, and their family, for the things that are closest to their hearts.  We need to be involved in this event this year as a group.

The NaCoMe fall youth retreat date has been set for Friday, October 15 - Sunday, October 17.  The theme for the retreat is "Hit the Lights."  This retreat is open to youth in grades 6-12 and will cost $100.  A weekend of workshops, games, worship, music and the biggest game of 'capture the flag' ever seen at NaCoMe are part of the planned events.

Mission Trip

PYF spent the week of July 18 serving in downtown Atlanta with D.O.O.R. (Discovering Opportunities for Outreach and Reflection) this summer.  Ally, Emma, Mary Beth, Melissa, Kate, Tyler, T and Jamie made the trip along with chaperones Brock, Kati B, Teresa and Patti VanHoozer.  This was a different experience this year as we served at food kitchens, shelters, and other helping agencies in the inner city.  For more information on the organization and activities see www.doornetwork.org.

The Junior/Senior High Sunday School class led by Teresa Burns and Kenny Newton continues the Faith Questions series connecting faith questions from Presbyterian Youth with questions from The Study Catechism:  Confirmation Version.
