. . . PRAYER OF CONFESSION. . .
O Lord, have mercy on us. We are like the flowers that bloom one day and are gone the next. We are made of dust, and without your gift of life, we perish. Forgive us for boasting in our own strength and righteousness, when you alone are our strength and Jesus Christ is our only righteousness. Forgive us for finding excuses not to answer your invitation to live in the ways of the Kingdom of God. We confess that we have held grudges rather than forgiving. We have wanted mercy from you without showing it to others. We have sought to have possessions for ourselves and to feed our own feelings of security, rather than placing ourselves and all that we have in your hands. Free us with the joy of your Holy Spirit, so that we may truly enjoy life and discover the greatest joy of all: to love you with all our hearts and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Amen
* If you have a prayer request please call the Church Office at 363-2554, or send it by e-mail to Barbara Puryear or Erlene Roller.
